People’s spaces: from Colombo to kalametiya by Nihal Perera

Nihal Perera is Professor of Urban Planning at Ball State University and Director of CapAsia immersive program in Asia. He was Fulbright Scholar in China (2006-07), Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore (2010), and has taught in several countries including India, China, Germany, and Italy. This year he received his second Fulbright scholar award to Myanmar. Dr. Perera’s research focuses on the production of space, especially by ordinary people. His publications include, Transforming Asian Cities (co-eds), Decolonizing Ceylon, and “Feminizing the City.”
