K.M. De Silva is a Sri Lankan historian. He was educated at the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya and later received a Ph.D from the University of London for the research into social policy and missionary organizations in mid 19th century British Ceylon. He has written numerous books on Sri Lankan history including the highly acclaimed History of Sri Lanka.
